The 4Q Framework
Four intelligences for a life you choose: IQ, EQ, HQ, and FQ.
A compass for a self-directed life, not a scorecard.
The 4Q Framework is a practical model for building a life of growth, joy, energy, and freedom. It names four capacities you can cultivate: Intellectual Growth, Emotional Intelligence, Health & Energy, and Financial Intelligence. Together they help you lead the life you truly want, anchored in who you authentically are.
Vision sets the direction. Values hold the ground. The four Qs are how you live it, day after day. Neglect one, and the others eventually feel it too.
Each Q has its own page with pillars and practice. Start wherever attention is asking.
Many “four intelligences” frameworks, including Covey-style models, sort the whole person into IQ, EQ, PQ (physical), and SQ (spiritual). That language is familiar. It is not what the 4Q Framework uses.
Here the four are IQ, EQ, HQ, and FQ. Two letters change the map.
HQ is not PQ as a thin stand-in for the body. Health & Energy means the full platform: movement, nutrition, sleep, recovery, and the vitality that converts intention into action in body, mind, and spirit. When HQ is thin, learning, relationships, and money decisions all cost more.
FQ is financial intelligence and economic agency: cash flow, investing, compounding, and ownership. It is not spiritual intelligence (SQ). Values and meaning matter on this site, and they live in Vision & Values and across the practice. They are not collapsed into a fourth “SQ” letter that replaces money as a named capacity.
Plenty of personal-growth models stop at mind, heart, and body (or body plus spirit). Financial security builds confidence, and confidence creates opportunity. In a world of longer lives, thinner employer and state guarantees, and rapid change in how people earn, treating money as private noise is a quiet risk. FQ makes economic agency visible on the same compass as growth, relationships, and health.
So if you are comparing “four intelligences” pages: look for HQ as Health & Energy, and FQ as Financial Intelligence. That pairing is the 4Q Framework’s distinctive shape.
Clarity first, then a rhythm. Vision & Values names where you are heading and what you will not trade. Sweet Spot helps you see where strengths, passions, earning power, and impact meet.
The 4Q Self-Assessment is a short personal reflection across all four intelligences. Three statements per Q. Scores and notes stay in the browser on this device. Nothing is sent. The aim is awareness, not a grade.
4Q Compass is the daily journal for the same four dimensions: a quiet morning intention, an honest evening reflection. Free, built for iPhone, data on your device. Its daily scores use a different scale from the assessment. They are not the same instrument.
Reading gathers books and essays organised by IQ, EQ, HQ, and FQ when you want depth behind a pillar.
